The campsite in Picnic Key has a wide beach with many places to pitch your tent. Several of the other adjacent islands like Tiger Key also make good for camping sites. You should, however, avoid Indian Key as it is right on the entrance to the main channel into Everglades city, and there is usually considerable boat traffic around the island.
On a clear day you should just about be able to see the high rises in Marco Island.
