Emory Landing is a really nice campsite. It has the Patuxent River standard (picnic table, fire ring, and no water), but it is up on a small bluff overlooking the river. The campsite connects to several trails, so there is plenty to do! The campsite can be reserved with the park service. This is a tidal stretch of river and getting to camp will be easier at higher tides.
There is also an Emory Preserve which is different from the campsite, make sure you don't go there by accident.
