If you are one of those people who can sleep well on a paper thin sleeping pad, then this might suit you. You wont have to worry about microscopic air punctures because you will be feeling every pebble underneath it by design, and no matter what claim Therm-a-Rest makes about the egg carton shape being able to give you all the padding you need will make my back believe the snake oil they are selling.
To be fair, the reflective material of the pad does reflect the heat back up, so although you might have a serious back ache in the morning after paddling 30+ miles the previous day, at least you wont be cold... Another reason why I don't like this pad for kayak camping is that it doesn't pack very well, and takes a lot of space in the kayak.
