Imagine paddling just meters away from a busy international airport with aircraft landing just meters above your head. If this is your kayaking dream, then this is the spot for you. The Potomac River is big and wide here, so be prepared for wind and waves.
There will be boats much larger than you, so pay attention. Work out hand signals with your party because talking may be difficult and consider ear protection because this spot is loud!
Gravely Point does have free parking and a very nice boat ramp. Be aware that just because there is a nice big parking lot does not mean there will be a spot available when you need it.
Weekdays and early mornings will serve your parking needs well.
