NRS Maxim 3mm Neoprene Gloves

For the high price and apparent high quality of the materials, I was surprised that these neoprene gloves eventually failed on me after 40 days of use. They failed on the tips of the thumbs which I think it is due to the constant pressure from the paddle shaft against the hand saddle which pushes the thumb against the glove fabric. If you do that for long enough and the outer layers of the glove thin out like an over stretched balloon. The 3mm thickness and the wool like material on the inside are very good to keep the hands dry and warm and minimize leakage. I would say that these gloves are more suited for paddling up north in the winter than in Florida. The other thing I did not like about this glove is the lack of dexterity with the fingers when compared to the Sea to Summit glove. handling anything like your phone makes your fingers feel like sausage sticks. You can use the phone screen, but it’s very difficult to be precise when zooming or panning the GPS map.

This video from NRS give a description from of the glove. Though its from the manufacturer so take it with a grain of salt.
